Open Enrollment

The state's Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a public school other than the school in which they currently reside.  School districts identify the number of seats they have available in the district at each grade level.  If more students apply than there are space available, school districts can first give preference to students currently attending school in the district (for example, a student attending under Tuition Waiver) and to students who have siblings attending school in the district.  After those students are accepted, other available spots must be filled through random selection.

As part of the Open Enrollment program, parents are able to enroll their children in the non-resident school district without paying tuition but must provide their own transportation for getting their children to and from school.

The Open Enrollment application period for the 2012-13 school year is February 6 - 24, 2012.  School districts are not allowed to accept late applications.  Parents may apply by completing a form at the school district main office, or they may apply on-line by going to this website: https://www2.dpi.state.wi.us/OpenEnrollApp.

For the 2012-13 school year, Oak Creek-Franklin School District has identified the following number of seats available for Open Enrollment students:

• 4K - 6 seats

• 5K - 0 seats

• Gr. 1 - 0 seats

• Gr. 2 - 0 seats

• Gr. 3 - 0 seats

• Gr. 4 - 0 seats

• Gr. 5 - 0 seats

• Gr. 6 - 10 seats

• Gr. 7 - 0 seats

• Gr. 8 - 0 seats

• Gr. 9 - 4 seats

• Gr. 10 - 0 seats

• Gr. 11 - 0 seats

• Gr. 12 - 0 seats

Spring Board Election

An election will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 for two offices for the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District School Board.  The officers are to be elected for the following incumbents:  Kathleen Borchardt and Jim Gilmeister.  The term of office for each of these terms is three years, beginning on April 23, 2012.

A Campaign Registration Statement and a Declaration of Candidacy are available at the District Administration and must be filed no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2012, in the the District Administration Building, 7630 S. 10th Street, Oak Creek.  Normal business hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
